I chose this hotel because I like Jugendstil art nouveau. We got an nice apartment with a living room with a view on the Mosel river, a kitchen and a separate bedroom.
Disadvantage is that you always need to walk outside meters to go to the main building for breakfast and the wellness. You can only find the Jugendstil in the main building - the hotel lobby, bar and restaurant look magnificent.
The breakfast offers a good variation of fine foods. Dinner is quite expensive but very good, although I should not eat everything they list on their menu, I'm not a fan of ox cheeks for example. In my opinion, there is not enough capacity in the restaurant compared to the size of the hotel and outlying apartments. The wellness is small but nice. Great looking main hotel building - very Art Deco - several dining spaces and a bar, front terrace.
Our room was in a parallel building that was much less Art Deco; it was plain, comfortable, with just a road view and not lavishly appointed. Quite different to the modern and traditional rooms in the web photos, but had a modern bathroom.
Walking to it involved one flight of stairs or a lift, crossing an covered walkway crossing a road, down two steps and down one spiral staircase. Definitely some limitations for mobility impaired unless you're in the main building, even then the main reception is up 8 steps. The dinner was a tasty, homely affair rather than anything astounding, considering the opulence of the room itself. The staff were friendly to us, but we did note a fairly elderly clientele at this hotel.
